7 Strings Guitar for Beginners?

7string-ibanez-jemFor any beginners to advanced guitarists, 6 strings is already a big universe to explore and now 7 strings? Man that's like telling a fish how to walk. Yes, 7-string guitars have been the cool choice in the world of metal rappers for a decade but not many people know that 7 strings guitars have been around since..ever and in fact there were many more strings then just seven.

But why bother with more strings? Why not stick to what we know? Well, for me it's just for the sake of curiosity and musical knowledge expansion. A 7-string guitar enables you to have an extra low-end big ass sound of the low-B (depends on how you tune your guitar) while maintaining the upper bright sound range and proper tension from the strings which came from many years of hard work of generations of electric guitar development.

First time a 7 strings guitar was in my hand, i didn't know what to do with it but after a while i was quite fun to fool around with rhythm playing.   Having survived the metal era with their doom factor still intact.

Seven and now eight string guitars are a popular way of adding extra range to your sound without having to retune or set up your guitar again which isn't the most interesting job to do.Ibanez-Universe-7-string

Ibanez has lead the way with a large list of endorsees playing the extended range instruments especially electric guitars. If you're lately thinking about joining the dark side of hard rock metal stuff, get a seven string and you won't regret it.

guitar for beginners ibanezIt's no doubt that the most well known 7-strings electric guitar maker in the world is Ibanez. To my world, Ibanez made 7 strings famous with the help from Steve Vai's fame in the 80's. Ibanez is a japanese crafted guitar company which offer signature guitars to most of the modern guitarists in the world (I used to know a guy who lives next door to the Japan factory and could bought them so cheap, of course he is a  japanese).

Most of the time though, to buy and Ibanez, cheap or expensive line you won't regret owning one. It's well known for the versatile and super easy to play and made for those crazy guitar technique geeks like me. However, if you like full-on blues music or other stuff it's different story. Fender and Gibson are sure great guitars but also the price.

Talking about the most affordable electric 7-strings I would recommend Ibanez RG7321. It gives the lowest price tag of the other three in the same line, but don’t be fooled. The RG732i packs a skinnierthan size zero 25.5-inch. 24 fret Wizard II neck, meaning you can reach full speeds that would usually cost you your license. Loaded with Ibanez AH7 ‘buckers, the RG732l actually has the most flexible pickup switching in the group.

For the record, some types of seven-string guitars are specific to certain cultures (i.e. Russian and Brazilian guitars). The standard 7-string guitar tuning is B E A D G B e. Just an extra low B. No big deal. But the just the bigger neck that might annoy you, you need to keep playing it until your brain learn to recognize the differences and get used to whenever you switch back and forth between 6 and 7 strings guitar. That's all for today. So, talking about 7 strings and all is this blog for beginners? Well, for a beginner any thing should be interesting. Go on to: www.ibanez.com
